PBK- Penerjemahan dengan aplikasi Wordfast (Review dan Foto)


Hai kawula muda, kembali lagi saya akan me-review sebuah aplikasi penerjemahan yang baru saya pelajari. Sebelumnya saya sudah memberikan review saya tentang aplikasi penerjemahan lainnya, yaitu Transit, yang bisa dilihat disini. Pada kesempatan kali ini saya akan memberikan review tentang aplikasi penerjemahan Wordfast.  
Wordfast diciptakan oleh Yves Champollion pada tahun 1999. Aplikasi yang menjadi andalan banyak  penerjemah lepas profesional ini memiliki kemampuan setara dengan SDL Trados. Wordfast memiliki 4 tipe aplikasi yang dapat digunakan sesuai kebutuhan, yaitu: Wordfast Classic, Wordfast Pro, Wordfast Anywhere, dan Wordfast Server. Wordfast Classic merupakan add-ons untuk Ms. Word sehingga aplikasi ini lebih cocok digunakan pada proyek-proyek terjemahan berbasis dokumen berformat <.doc>, <.docx>, dan format-format lain yang didukung oleh Ms. Word. Sementara itu, Wordfast Pro merupakan aplikasi standalone yang mendukung lebih banyak varian format dokumen
Namun layaknya aplikasi pada umumnya, aplikasi Wordfast  ini juga mempunyai kelebihan dan kekurangan, terutama dalam penggunaannya. Oleh karena itu, pada postingan ini saya akan sedikit memberikan opini saya setelah menggunakan aplikasi Wordfast.
Kelebihan Wordfast :
-     Lebih mudah digunakan daripada aplikasi Transit.
-     Aplikasi Wordfast jauh lebih modern sehingga memudahkan para penerjemah awam
-     Aplikasi ini tidak berbayar/gratis.
Kekurangan Wordfast :
-   Penerjemah tidak dapat menerjemahkan  teks secara otomatis dari teks sumber ke teks sasaran seperti Transit XV.
